Just So Fine | |||
My personal favorite. Could a song about an old bottle of Château Margaux ever be commercial? The theme likely is (relationships are more important than things), with a guitar solo by renowned LA session musician, Tim Pierce. |

Last Dance | |||
We hired a publicist to promote the CD to radio and chose Last Dance to launch it. The song is about finding an emotional escape from cold war fears. The song is about finding in another's arms an emotional escape from fears of war. Even though the wall had fallen before the album release, it was still relevant. According to our publicist, the song was climbing the Billboard charts in the SW region for a number of weeks until Saddam suddenly invaded Kuwait. Within days, everyone turned pro-war and growing complaints compelled the radio stations to pull it. It isn't really an "anti-war" song, but the customer is always right...
Babylon | |||
An anthem song about politicians and the people who pay them to avoid having to compete (dead weight loss and all that). Big sound, well performed and really fun to play. Perhaps it could find some legs in the "drain the swamp" vein.
I'm Waiting For You | |||
About a very real actress with whom I fully expected to have a steamy relationship, if only in my dreams. There are a few clues in the lyric and people have actually figured out who it is. It's a fun game. Influences: The Police/Sting.

Tear Down These Walls | |||
Tear Down These Walls was the first track on the CD because everyone thought it was the most commercial. It's a rocker with fast, out front piano, in the vein of Saturday's Alright for Fighting (Elton John) and Big Shot (Billy Joel).
It's All Right | |||
Another personal favorite but with an unconventional structure and admittedly bizarre lyric. Queen vocal influence and Lennon lyric influence (Lucy in the Sky? except I wasn't high. Really.)
That's What I've Felt for So Long
A plaintive acoustic piece written on the road two years after the CD was released.
